On the stand, a former hotel security guard testified that Diddy allegedly paid him $100,000 to delete the footage of the Cassie assault.

Throughout Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ federal trial, attorneys on both sides have referenced the infamous 2016 hotel video of him allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, numerous times.

During the third week of testimony, a security guard from the InterContinental hotel testified that Diddy allegedly paid him $100,000 to delete footage of the video and also made him sign a non-disclosure agreement, which included a $1 million fine if the contract were breached.

Eddy Garcia, a hotel security supervisor who testified he was making $10.50 an hour at the time of the March 5, 2016, assault, claimed Diddy and his employees aggressively pursued him to ensure the footage of the Cassie assault could go away.

On the stand, Garcia told the court that on the day of the assault, he received a phone call from Kristina Khorram, an employee of the rapper and reality TV star, who allegedly asked to obtain a copy of the video.

Garcia reportedly told Khorram no, but he testified that she continued to pursue him. Eventually, Garcia stated that he received another call from Khorram, who then put Diddy on the phone.

Garcia told the court Diddy sounded nervous, and the rapper attributed his behavior to consuming too much alcohol. Garcia also claimed that Diddy said the video would ruin his career if it ever got out, ultimately leading to an alleged hefty transaction.

Garcia testified that he told Diddy and Khorram that he was unable to assist them because he didn’t have access to the room where the original video server was housed. It was then, Garcia stated, that Diddy allegedly told him he would take care of him, which Garcia assumed meant financially.

Garcia told the court he then contacted his supervisor, who reportedly decided to sell the footage for $50,000. He further stated that he met Diddy and Khorram at an address in California and provided them with a flash drive containing the footage.

Garcia recalled telling Diddy that he was nervous he would somehow be implicated; however, Diddy allegedly calmed his fears by video chatting Cassie, who also confirmed that she wanted the video “to go away.”

Garcia testified that he handed over what he believed was the only existing copy of the video to Diddy and also signed a non-disclosure agreement that included a $1 million fine for any breach of the contract.

After that, Garcia said Diddy brought him $100,000 in a brown bag, which he believed was to be divided among his supervisor and another security guard.

Garcia testified that Diddy allegedly told him not to make any big purchases, as it would appear suspicious, before Garcia later told the court that he had bought a used car for $30,000.

Cassie’s Husband Broke His Silence On Diddy’s Alleged Actions

After Cassie, who dated Diddy from 2008 to 2018, concluded her testimony in May 2025, her husband, Alex Fine, released a moving statement praising her bravery and strength on the witness stand.

“Cassie saved Cassie. She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her,” he said.

“All I have done is love her as she has loved me. Her life is now surrounded by love, laughter, and our family. This horrific chapter is forever put behind us,” he stated, adding that he and Cassie were looking forward to their privacy.

In an Instagram post from May 2024, Fine shared a similar statement in honor of “women and children.”

He wrote: “Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men.”

“Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved,” he added. “Hold the women in your life with the [utmost] regard. Men who hurt women hate women.”

On June 3, Shawn Dearing, identified as a former escort who was allegedly hired a “dozen” times by Diddy, broke his silence on the rapper’s trial and recalled his experience with Cassie.

Dearing, 37, who reportedly worked for a site called Cowboys4Angels, explained that after prosecutors released his photo during the trial, he decided to speak out to lend “some credence” to Cassie’s story.

“I don’t seek attention. I don’t want to go out there and make it seem like I’m trying to get my name known off of this experience,” he said.

Then, Dearing became emotional as he spoke about his alleged interactions with Cassie.

“She was so uplifting — the kindest and most respectful person,” he said. “She was genuine throughout the whole experience.”

“You got me tearing up!” Dearing added. “I want what’s best for her, honestly, because she … she’s a bad-ss lady, man. She’s awesome. So I want her respect first and foremost.”
