Joshua Jackson has dragged his ex-wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, back to court over their custody arrangement.

The former couple has been butting heads for years, ever since Turner-Smith filed to end their 4-year marriage in 2023. Although they recently sorted out their differences and reached a divorce settlement, the “Dawson’s Creek” actor was unsatisfied.

Joshua Jackson filed a declaration on May 28, claiming Jodie Turner-Smith attempted to remove their young daughter Juno from her school without his consent. He argued that his ex-wife only wanted to switch the little girl’s educational facility to fit her needs without consideration for their child.

According to court documents, Jackson called out his ex-wife for selfishly trying to change their custody arrangement to suit her needs. He implored the court to step in and enter a much more detailed parenting plan for them while ensuring Juno remained at her current school.

Jackson’s demands extended to a custody schedule for when Turner-Smith was out of the country for work, stressing in his declaration that the model frequently traveled. He compared their priorities, arguing that while his ex-wife wanted them to fit into her schedule, he did the opposite.

The TV personality explained that he limited traveling while promoting his most recent show, “Doctor Odyssey,” and would not accept work requiring travel for the next few years. Jackson, per In Touch, claimed he avoided leaving the country because he prioritized his duties as a father.

Jackson noted the court needed to intervene and stop Turner-Smith from enrolling their daughter in a different school despite initially agreeing to the plan.

He explained that he could not go through with the decision because he “didn’t know how important school and peer continuity are for children, and especially for Juno.”

The TV personality stressed that he was in the right for prioritizing his daughter’s happiness and condemned Turner-Smith for being selfish. He added that he and Juno lived in a Calabasas rental while he worked to rebuild their home, which was destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires.

Jackson explained that the rental was still closer to Juno’s current school compared to the institution Turner-Smith wanted.

Since the little girl was primarily in his care while the model worked abroad, he implored the court to halt the transfer, noting it would be unfair for Juno to endure a longer commute to school.

Turner-Smith Seemingly Throws Shade At Jackson

Days after Jackson’s complaint, Turner-Smith seemingly addressed the drama on her Instagram Story. She reposted a picture shared by a Netflix movies fan account featuring the animated villains from “Toy Story 3,” “Frozen,” “Coco,“ and “Zootopia.”

The caption above the villains read, “‘Why don’t you like that person? They seem so nice.‘ You know who else seemed to be nice.“ The comment appeared to be Turner-Smith’s way of shading Jackson as a man she initially believed was nice.

The media personality further fueled this theory by adding, “[Facepalm emoji] stay safe out there.“ PEOPLE reported she dropped the post on Monday, June 2, six months after she made waves for slamming Jackson in their divorce battle.

Last December, The Blast covered Turner-Smith’s motion to receive financial support amid her divorce from Jackson. Although she initially requested the termination of spousal support in her separation filing, she did a complete 180 following the prolonged legal battle.

The model requested $28,641 in spousal support, claiming the sum was necessary to support her needs and those of her daughter. Turner-Smith blamed Jackson for her financial situation, arguing that he dragged out their divorce by refusing to cooperate and reach a settlement.

Since their separation turned into a years-long battle, Turner-Smith noted her ex-husband should be responsible for the incurred expenses. Additionally, she supported her motion with Jackson’s alleged promise to help her even if they divorced.

According to Turner-Smith, Jackson no longer wished to keep his vow of financial security and asked her to settle for less. She claimed he initially promised to support her in the event of a divorce because he understood the struggles of Black women and single mothers.

Besides asking for $28,641 in spousal support, Turner-Smith requested Jackson to pay $8,543 in child support. She also wanted him to pay $250,000 for her attorney fees and forensic accounting costs. Her motion for financial support came months after she addressed the end of her 4-year marriage to the actor.

Although she did not pinpoint the main reason she pulled the plug on their union, Turner-Smith noted that “Sometimes things we really want to work just don’t end up working, and that’s OK.“ She claimed it was essential to choose the “healthiest” path rather than dwelling on things that cannot be changed.

Will Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith face another lengthy legal battle over their custody arrangement?
