The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Fillippo Grandi has appealed to the international community to double their effort in bringing the conflict in South Sudan to an end because the war is contributing to the largest influx of refugees.

However Rugunda said that Uganda will continue welcoming refugees with or without any support from Europe.

According to statistics, at the end of last year, Uganda was the eighth largest refugee hosting country in the world, and so far 163,000 refugees have arrived in the country fleeing war in South Sudan, DRC, Burundi among others only this year.
