Airlines, government assure travellers to Uganda on security after bomb blasts

The Airline companies operating in Uganda have reported that they are receiving numerous inquiries from their clients abroad, on the security situation in Uganda.

This follows the last Sunday night bomb blasts in Kampala that left over 74 people and several others nursing injuries and property destroyed.

Airline companies say they are receiving telephone calls and e-mails inquiries from foreign countries whether the security situation in Uganda is returning to normal.

The county general manager of Brussels airlines Pierre De Clerck confirms that they are assuring those abroad that the situation in Uganda is stable.

The minister of state for Tourism Serapio Rukundo also calls for more vigilance among members of the public, adding that government is to inject more funds in purchase of surveillance facilities, to facilitate identification of wrong elements.
