The Presidential Aspirant for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Patrick Amuriat, has been given a fresh date to appear before the Electoral Commission.
Amuriat and the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential aspirant, Robert Kyagulanyi, were summoned to appear before the Electoral Commission (EC) over breach of election guidelines and the Standard Operating Procedures aimed at controlling the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
In a letter dated December 10, EC Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi informed the duo to appear before the commission on Monday (December 14, 2020).
Kyagulanyi was set to appear at 10:00 am while Amuriat will appear at 11:00 am.
However, Amuriat spent the day campaigning in the Karamoja region.
It turns out that he wrote a letter to the EC, requesting them to push the appointment to next monday but the EC declined. Instead, he has been summoned to appear at the EC offices on Wednesday December 16.
Meanwhile, Kyagulanyi, who sent a team to represent him in the meeting has been summoned to appear in person.
