Barren rich women in Uganda bribe doctors working at government referral hospitals and high class medical centres to remove uteruses from poor women without their knowledge. Reports indicate that this illegal incident is common at Mulago and DevineMedicalCenter in Hoima district.

It is said that when poor women seek medical help from some health centres to correct intestinal malfunction, after surgery, their periods’ disappeare and stay in pain in their stomachs which increases every day. Health Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda confirms this news and says his ministry is still investigationg the doctors behind the crime.

As an example, Rugunda cites a case of a woman, he identifies as Winfred Nabwami, 36, who reportedly went to Dr. Dennis Bitamazire of DevineMedicalCenter in Hoima to get medical help and the doctor instead removed her uterus without her knowledge.

Rugunda says Nabwami wanted Dr. Bitamazire to correct an intestinal malfunction. But the doctor removed the uterus and perhaps sold it to the rich barren women in the district.

Nabwami is currently admitted at Azure Christian Health Center IV in western Uganda over incessant stomach pain and vomiting. The doctors in Mulago national hospital confirm that Nabwami’s uterus is missing.

Nabwami filed a complaint with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council but she has never got help due to corruption in Uganda and ill manner of some of the staff in Uganda’s health ministry. Dr. Sentongo Katumba, the registrar of the Council confirms that he is aware of Nabwami’s case. Sources in the medical council told one of our staff that Nabwami is lucky because in some hospitals doctors collude with some rich women to steal uteruses from poor women and afterwards they kill them in secret. This is how Uganda is now!
