The president of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Col. Kiiza Besigye has said religious leaders should join politics since they make important decisions in society.

He says everyone including President Museveni understands that religious leaders make important decisions concerning development and they should not be blocked from participating in politics.

Besigye says religious leaders are so important in mobilizing people to support government programmes of education, health, and poverty eradication among others.

The President of FDC says when he wins 2011 elections he will treat religious leaders as development partners.

This is contained in a news statement Besigye has issued today in Kampala. He says religious leaders should be left free to join politics and spread the anti corruption gospel to politicians.
