Bidandi Ssali writes to President Museveni over Lukwago-Musisi conflicts

The president of the peoples progressive party Jaberi Bidandi Sali has written to president Yoweri Museveni demanding for the amendment of the Kampala capital city authority Act to reflect the constitutional spirit and policy of the decentralization of power and responsibilities in provision of social services from the central government to locally elected leaders in their respective councils.

In his letter Bidandi Sali who worked for many years as minister of Local Government said that Kampala residents deserve demand and are entitled to similar benefits like other parts of the country.

Bidandi Sali said the government is happy within fighting between the city Lord Mayor who does not belong to the rulling NRM and appointed the executive director. He says the conflicts between the two leaders might come with dire consequences to the citizen of the capital city and the country as whole.

Bidandi Sali added that the disagreement between the managers of the city authority is reaching dangerous proportions that are already negatively impacting on the security, stability and social service in the capital city authority.

Bidandi also requested the president to take Owino market fire as serious issue and handle it with care instead of chasing traders from the place.
