This was revealed by the chairman of the caucus Godfrey Kiwanda while speaking to journalists at parliament.
Kiwanda said that Kawooya membership is still open for her to continue performing her duties for the good of Buganda Region when she feels she wants to join the caucus again.

He however questioned the manner in which she resigned from the caucus saying it’s unfounded and as a leader she would have thought twice.

Kiwanda explained that Buganda caucus took a decision not to support any Candidate from Buganda on understanding with other regions but not that they hated Kawooya as an individual.

The Pan African position fell vacant after the appointment of Sarah Kataike Ndoboli as State minister for health in Charge of General duties.

Kawooya contested in the Elections and lost to Ngora Woman MP Jackline Amongin by 71 votes against 41which made her to resign from the caucus.
