Butambala members of parliament have called for the halting of the construction of Butambala road by Enargo Construction Company.
Mps Marriam Nalubega and Muwanga Kivumbi told parliament that the works on Butambala road is going on without compensation of the affected people where the road is passing.
Mps said that its un fair for the destruction of the people’s properties which include houses crops and trees yet are not paid for the loss.
MP marriam Nalubega said that the delay could be a trick to defraud the beneficiaries as it happened in mityna.
They promised to mobilize their and stop the road construction if they are not compensation.
However, the minister of state for works Dr. Stephen Chebrot apologized for the delayed compensation to the people of Butambala where the road is passing.
Dr.chebrot assured the affected people that their compensation will begin on 10 th March 2014
