Chinese government donates hospital equipment

China
No patient who visits any government health facility and is admitted will be sleeping on the floor as they receive treatment. This has been confirmed by the life minister, Elioda Tumwesigye while at the handover ceremony where the Chinese government donated 7000 patient beds, drip stands and mattresses.
The minister who expressed misery over the current huge numbers of patients visiting government health centers and end up sleeping on the floor as they receive treatment notes that this also adds up on the long time they take to heal, saying the poor situation makes it very difficult for the patients to get better very fast. With the donation that will be sent to all health facilities in the country right from health centers(iii) (iv), regional referral hospitals and national referral hospitals will beef up on the current bed capacity in these facilities. He further says that government is also yet to commit more funds this year to buy beds for young ones who get admitted since currently the facilities are not having beds for children.
While handing over the beds, drip stands and mattresses totaling to 7000 each, all worth USD.1.5M, the Chinese ambassador to Uganda, HE. Zhao Yao said, the donation to the health system of Uganda is a symbol of solidarity between the two nations mainly as Uganda goes through her transformation stages. But the ambassador challenged government to see to it that it sets up more functioning health facilities that will provide better health services to Ugandans to scale down the rate of death.
