|The probe committee into the alleged misuse of CHOGM funds is to meet President Museveni as one of its witnesses before winding up its investigations.
The public accounts committee has so far unearthed many scandals in which billions of the tax payers’ money was either swindled or misused in preparation for the meeting in 2007.
The committee’s lead council, Tom Kazibwe says many of the ministers have been blaming their illegal actions on presidential directives and the president will be given a chance to respond.
Meanwhile, MP Kazibwe says security Minister Amama Mbabazi who had earlier snubbed the committee has accepted to meet them and explain whatever queries the members might have.
He however warns that the committee is now winding up its work and any ministers who fail to show up now will not be given another chance. But it is not yet clear when President Museveni and Security Minister Amama Mbabazi will appear before the committee.
