Competition forces Emirates, Gulf Air, Ethiopian airline, Kenyan airline, British airways, Qatar Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Rwandair to start direct flights from Dubai to Entebbe

Competition has forced Emirates to start direct flights from Dubai to Entebbe International Airport in the Republic of Uganda. Emirates originally was connecting from Dubai, Cairo, Juba and some times Dares Salaam before landing at Entebbe.

The Emirates Uganda country manager, Khalid Zarouni says that Emirates want to solve the growing traffic between Entebbe and Dubai. He says Emirates will offer seamless connections to Middle East, Indian andAsia.

Uganda is one of the African countries in the last few years that have had tremendous growth in its airspace. This is because Uganda despite the political unrest it facesunder the NRM regime has continued to attract new investment plus the recent discovery of oil in Uganda.  Some of the air transport companies operating in Uganda include Gulf Air, Ethiopian airline, Kenyan airline, British airways, Qatar Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Rwandair among others.
