Ultimate Media

Corporate companies have been challenged to priotise corporate social responsibility programs in their respective communities if they are to reap from their target markets.

The call was made by the Nokia communications manager East and Southern Africa Dorothy Ouko, while handing over a cheque worth over 28 million shillings to the Uganda Red cross Society to aid the people of Bududa.

The district was last month hit by landslides that left over 90 people dead, 3000 displaced and hundreds still missing. She says, the money will help purchase non food relief items like tents, clothes, blankets and drugs for affected population.

Ouko has pledged Nokia’s commitment to continue monitoring the situation at the Bulucheke camps to assess the needs of the people and accord the necessary assistance.

According to red cross officials, the relief items will be distributed next week.
