David Jamwa Chandi after arrest
The Anti corruption court’s chief magistrate, Irene Akankwasa has set the 20th of September 2010 to start hearing abuse of office case against the former managing Director of the National Social Security Fund Fund, David Chandi Jamwa.
Jamwa is facing two charges of abuse of office and causing financial loss to the National Social Security Fund.
Jamwa is alleged to have sold off government bonds between September and November 2007, before their maturity dates causing the alleged financial loss of over 2.7 billion shillings.
It is said that Jamwa also sold off the bonds without following proper procedures leading to the abuse of office.
