The Electoral Commission in Uganda has extended the voter registration exercise by ten days.
The exercise which began on the May 3rd was scheduled to close on June 4th 2010.
But now it will now continue till June14th.
The commission has revised the registration period in responce to hundreds of complaints by Ugandans including MPs, traditional and religious leaders.
The chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Eng. Badru Kiggundu says the commission has realized that it could not complete voter registration within just one month.
Kiggundu says this has been done to ensure all eligible voters do not miss the opportunity to exercise their political rights.
