Environmentalists take conservation campaigns to schools

Environmentalists have changed strategies used in implementing environmental conservation programmes in the country.

This has been witnessed in the new strategy by Environmental Management for Lived Improvement (EMLI) facilities where it is now moving to schools to champion environment conservation.

According to the deputy executive director, EMLI facilities, Robert Bakika, over the years environmentalists have applied conservation programmes in a wrong way to wrong beneficiaries which has failed to produce results.

The new strategy dubbed promoting public awareness on wetlands and their services through schools will operate in the central district of Kampala piloted in schools in the divisions of Kawempe and Rubaga.
