Erias lukwago calls special council to solve taxi drivers strike crisis

Kampala capital city authority Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago says today’s sit down strike for drivers wouldn’t  have happened if he was left to carry on with the consultative meetings with all the stake holders in the transport sector especially UTODA.

lukwago told journalists during a press conference at city hall that after the authority receiving complaints of drivers in a petition that was given to the executive director, he was looking for a solution when he sought for a meeting with the managers of UTODA.

Lukwago said the taxi drivers had a reason to strike because they raised their concerns but they were not addressed.

He   has called for a special sitting for the council this Wednesday to find a lasting solution to the crisis.
