FOWODE to equip Uganda women ahead of 2011 elections

The Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) has organized a conference with an aim of equipping women politicians in Uganda political skills that will enable them contest for elective posts in the coming 2011 general elections.

The conference that is set to take place from 13th to 16th June, 2010 will be running under the theme “Setting the Tunes of Democracy: Towards an agenda for political accountability to women”

In a press statement which Ultimate Media has seen FOWODE says, the conference will not only equip women with equip Uganda women with the skills to contest for the coming general elections but also skills on how to win the elections.

According to FOWODE, the conference will be attended by hundreds of women politicians at national, district and sub- county levels from all over Uganda.

The forum says, it has no doubts in the conference setting a platform for increased visibility of Women’s role in Uganda’s politics.
