After over 25 years of LRA insurgency led by Joseph Kony, various stakeholders are looking at ways of restoring total peace in the region and one of the ways is coming up with reconciliation processes for the people of Northern Uganda.

One of the advisors of the project Dr. Joe Oloka Onyango told the press in Kampala today that they are delighted with the minister’s remarks because reconciliation will help the people of the North get out of poverty

Onyango who is a Makerere University Law Don however appealed to the Uganda government to carry out the process in a timely and well planned manner to avoid failing to achieve its ultimate objective of entrenching peace and reconciliation amongst the people of Northern Uganda.

The Makerere University Don also appealed to the ICC to constructively engage in equitable, impartial and non- discriminatory processes of justice to ensure permanent peace in the region.
