Government has today launched a new approach to service delivery code named monitoring camps in the areas of health, education and agriculture in the rural communities.

The Economic monitoring State minister Kasirivu Atwooki said the directorate of socio-economic monitoring and research directorate under the office of the president identified monitoring camps as the new approach to addressing challenges in the three sectors.

The new approach targets the health, agriculture and education sectors as the main basic sectors to development according to Kasirivu.

Kasirivu says the continued poor utilization of monitoring findings and recommendations, lack of adequate capacity, limited engagement of stakeholders and poor information sharing mechanisms among others has led to the new approach.

Vincent Tumusiime, the director of economic affairs and research in the office of the president said the camps would help in assessing the status of service delivery at the grass roots.
