The Parliamentary committee on Presidential Affairs has approved 6 billion shillings to recruit new assistant Resident District Commissioners (RDC) to handle youth related affairs.

The recruitment of the RDCs has in the past been rejected by sections of opposition MPs who believe that allocating billions of shillings for the RDCs’ activities is a waste of public resources.

The Minister of the Presidency, Beatrice Wabudeya, while appearing before the committee today, explained that the funds would be used to facilitate the RDCs to promote developmental programmes in the districts under the Prosperity for All programme.
