The Police in Ibanda district are holding Muhiirwe Rogger 23, from Kigarama in Ibanda town council suspected to be dealing in counterfeit money.

The district police commander, Richard Ecega says the man was found with 25,000 shillings fake currency.

Ecega says the suspects use magnesium, Sodium oxide powder as spacemen to make fake notes.

Ecega explains that other suspects dealing in counterfeit currency are still at large with a bundle of fake money.

Many people from western Uganda have fallen victims of con men that deal in counterfeit money by taking advantage of their ignorance.

According to the Penal Code Act section 357, a person found guilty of issuing and using fake money is entitled to a seven year imprisonment.
