Identities of the killed Uganda peacekeeping soldiers in Somalia released

The Uganda army has finally released the identities of the UPDF soldiers who were killed by the Al-shabab militants of Somalia over the weekend.

The deceased have been identified as Lieutenant Col. Patrick Tibiha of the 23rd battalion, lieutenant Lawrence Tugume from the tank battalion, Captain Abdullah Isabirye and Augustine Kuloba.

Lieutenant Tibiha comes from Kasese district Bukonzo county Mukunyu sub –county in Nyamuhunzi village.

According to the UPDF spokesperson Lieutenant Felex Kulaigye says the deceased ware hit during the operations with AMISON after capturing of the Bondere district.

He however said despite the setbacks, AMISON forces have had significance success with the transitional federal government in Somalia and now controlling about 70% of the Mogadishu.
