Illegal structures are hindering development in Uganda’s capital city, Kampala.

The wooden and metallic kiosks constructed along streets and road sides of Kampala interfere with the smooth flow of traffic in this city.

The Mayor of Kampala, Hajji Nasser Sebaggala says attempts by Kampala City Council to remove the illegal structures are regularly frustrated by politicians and senior government officials.

Sebaggala says the politicians and senior government officials should allow the council to demolish illegal structures in the city center if Kampala is to develop.
