Jobs conman arrested in Kampala

Police have confirmed the arrest of Yusuf Kasajja and other 5 people alleged to have extorted money from Ugandans claiming to get them jobs or enable them access President Museveni.

The Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi says Kasajja formed an association called Uganda Volunteers Movement Association based in Ndeeba to mobilise local people.

He says Kasajja and his group have been getting money from people between 100, 000 and one million shillings for identity cards, registration and T. Shirts.

Ssenkumbi adds that yesterday, over 6000 people were organised from different districts at Kololo airstrip being promised that the association was to be launched and President Museveni was to preside over the launch.

He says the people ended up getting stuck which sent Kasajja and his group into hiding.

Ssenkumbi says the Police have started carrying the people back to their villages and the suspects are to be charged for obtaining money by false pretence and impersonation.
