The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has asked the attorney general to come up with a statement on when elections for the LC1s will be conducted. Kadaga says people are yearning for these elections which she claims complete the election cycle but the date when they will be conducted is still unknown.

The speaker made the reminder to the AG as she opened the new sitting of parliament after a long recess which also saw several members losing elections while other retained their seats. She congratulated incumbent members who managed to go through the election exercise which she described as lengthy and very expensive. Kadaga commended the outgoing legislators for their contribution especially in what she called terrorizing this region in the sporting arena, but however asked members to continue attending parliament because they are still on duty until mid May.
Meanwhile, state minister for finance Fred Omach who also lost the elections urged his fellow losers to take heart because according to him, the loss is not the end of the world.
