Kampala Capital City Authority to register garbage collection providers

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in a bid to streamline and put in place performance standards for all garbage collection service providers is to register all people and companies dealing in garbage collection.

We hear that any person or company dealing in garbage must cough one million shillings to get registered. The KCCA director, Jenifer Musisi confirms that the authority is to register the garbage collectors and adds that they are required to register with KCCA detailing their physical address, location and the areas they cover.

They must also indicate their logistical base, equipments, key personel, copies of memoranda, certificate of incorporation, and certificate of registration in case of a CBO. We have also learnt that the registration shall be conducted by the office of the executive director at City hall building.
