Kampala capital City Authority to remove stay Dogs from city

Kampala Capital City Authority has today launched a task force intended to get rid of all stray Dogs in the city.

The Kampala Capital Authority senior veterinary officer Dr. Amilyani Ahimbisibwe said the task force has been put in place to kill all stray Dogs.

The decision follows Dog bites being handled by Kampala Capital City Authority health centre. Dr. Ahimbisibwe said the Kampala Capital City Authority health centres across the city receive an average number of Dog bites ranging from 3-4 cases per day and says of uncontrollable, the Dogs could become a source of rabies.

Kennedy Byarugaba of kasubi in lubaga division was on Monday attacked by Dogs one of which bite him as he returned home.

He sustained deep wounds on his left leg and he is currently undergoing treatment at Mulago hospital. He however said Mulago hospital did not have Anti-rabies drugs and was asked to buy the drug from a private clinic at 30,000 shillings.
