Katikamu student blamed for current strike in Bugema SDA

Police have summoned a senior 6 student of Katikamu SDA Elisha Ssemengo over the strike that rocked the school last week.
Central East Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi says they suspect Ssemengo to have tipped Bugema SDA students on how to strike in expression of their grievances since he had led one previously.
Kigozi says that Ssemengo is suspected to have led the students of Katikamu into striking and he is thought to have passed on the tactics to the students of Bugema.
This morning, the students of Bugema SDA have gone on strike, a few days after their sister school Katikamu had one that led to the closure of the school.
Ssemengo’s mother is an accountant at Bugema SDA and he is also an old boy in the same school. He is believed to have connived with one James Billy Kasule to organize students into demonstrating over bad feeding and few teachers among others.

Kigozi notes that the school has already suspended 9 students, 8 of whom are S.5 students and one from S.3 over stoning abd breaking glasses of the school property.
Meanwhile, the Luwero District Police commander and the District Education Officer have gone to meet the administration and students of Light of Life over the attempted strike by students against poor feeding.
