KCCA plans to arrest residents without permits

Living and working in Kampala may soon become more complicated. After the city director Jenifer Musisi successfully evicted street vendors from Kampala streets, the Kampala Capital City Authority Council has met in Kampala today to design how it will arrest occupants of buildings in Kampala without permits.

The meeting has taken place at KCCA hall in Kampala and it was chaired by Ms Musisi herself. The council has resolved that occupying commercial buildings in Kampala without permits contravenes section 20 of the public health act.

The sources that have attended the meeting report that the Kampala authority starting on Monday next week will issue a warning that occupying buildings in Kampala without permits is illegal.

The occupants would be required to submit occupation permits applications to the director of physical planning George Agaba.
