Ken Lukyamuzi pleads with CP members ‘not to sack him’

The Conservative party president John Ken Lukyamuzi has pleaded with his party members asking them to save him from the wrath of being fired from the party presidency.

Lukyamuzi, who is also Rubaga South legislator in the 9th Uganda parliament, says that he was willing to relinquish his party seat and hand over to ‘someone who is willing to succeed him but ‘sacking’ him is not justified. Lukyamuzi pleaded yesterday during the party’s delegates’ conference in Kampala.

The delegates’ conference came amidst tribulations the party was facing that had forced some members of CP to call on Lukyamuzi to resign forcefully, while accusing him of neglecting the party to concentrate on his personal political life and misappropriating funds.

Lukyamuzi is facing stiff battle from a faction within CP led by the party’s former Secretary General, Dan Walyemera, who is openly opposed to the legislator’s leadership.
