The High Court has advised the Law Council and the MP for Rujumbura county, Jim Muhwezi to settle the matter over the latter’s legal practicing certificate out of Court.

Muhwezi is accusing the Law Council of refusing to grant him his certificate of practice as an advocate despite having concluded his bar course.

The Law Council on March 10th this year declined his application for a practicing certificate because he still has pending criminal charges in court.

Jim Katugugu Muhwezi says he is innocent until proved guilty and wants the court to quash the decision of the Law Council.

The two parties appeared before High Court Judge Kibuuka Musoke who advised both parties to sit on the same table and settle the matter out of court.

Court has given government and Jim Muhwezi up to June 7th to discuss the matter and exhaust all positions of settling the matter out of court.
