Leaders asked to empower local courts

Local leaders have been urged to empower local courts at the grass root level to help resolve disputes with in their respective communities.

Lady Justice Stella Arach Amoko says if these local courts are put in place then people may not need to go to the courts of law, thus reducing on the case backlog.

She adds that sometimes the courts are too expensive for the local people who may not be in position to afford the court charges, and that the local courts would act better because they are closer to the people.

Justice Amoko also reveals that the local courts could help the communities to live in harmony.
