Maria Kiwanuka fails to appear before Parliamentary Committee on Finance

The parliamentary finance committee has criticized the Minister of Finance for failing to honor the committee’s invite to appear before the MPs.

Maria Kiwanuka had been invited to explain to the MPs the current state of the economy but did not turn up.

Committee chairperson, Frank Tumwebaze says the minister’s actions were not called for as her submissions were vital on the current economic situation.

Tumwebaze says the committee will summon her again and if she fails, disciplinary action will be taken against her.
