Masaka football club declines to sell stadium to UK Olympics group

Masaka local council football club has rejected an offer from the UK  Olympics special ambassador for Africa to buy  their club.

Currently Masaka local council football club stands fourth on the relegation zone with 19 points together with UTODA and Fire master with same points but with an advantage of goal difference, the club has also been in severe financial crisis.

Recently players had threatened to quit the Uganda super league due to unpaid salary alias’ for the last three months.

Further to this the UMEME and the Uganda national water sewerage corporation also disconnected water and power supply to masaka local council camp due to unpaid bills.

Early this year Alex Willington Kasuja, the special UK Olympics Ambassador for Africa affairs presented his papers seeking to buy the cash stripped Masaka local council football club, he offered 100 million shillings.

Kasuja promised to pay the players and management and to invest over 100 million shillings to renovate Masaka recreation ground which is the club home ground.

Two month of negotiation, Masaka local council football club management has finaly rejected to offer Kasuja’s request.

The Football club’s chairperson Vicent Sempija says the club has agreed not to serve the club to Kasuja as an individual because it belong to Masaka, Rakai, sembabule,Kalangala, among other ordinary  score funs who sacrifice their money to buy tickets and watch them play.

Sempija says with the newly elected leaders promising to offer financial help, Masaka local council football club will raise and shine under the current management.

Alex Kasuja currently in London is planning to offer the deal to another Jinja based football club
