More money allocated to cater for rural water supply and sanitation in rural areas

The Minister for water and environment Maria Mutagamba has said the 281.391 billion shillings budget a location to the sector will enable it continues expanding safe water coverage.

Mutagamba said in the last financial year, her ministry increased safe water coverage and accessibility in rural areas to 60% completion level.

She said they drilled 80 Boreholes and completed the Dawali, Labora Gulu Youth centre and Minakura rural growth centre.

Mutagamba said this financial year they continue focusing on rural water supply and sanitation, urban water and sanitation and water for production.
