MP appeals for relief food for hailstorm hit Namutamba district

The Member of Parliament for Busiki County in Namutumba district  Aspta Wilson Isiko has appealed for food to the people of Namutumba who were hit by rain storms which had hail stone recently.

He said that since the disaster hit the area, people are facing the problem of getting food because they have run out food assistance got from government and Red Cross.

MP Isiko said that people need to get seeds which can grow faster and give food to the people who are now facing food scarcity in the area.

Hundreds of people were left  homeless following rainstorms that destroyed 90 houses in Namutumba district, the rainstorms destroyed over 100 acres of gardens and left at least 200 animals, including goats and cattle dead and the crop fields contained maize, beans, rice, potatoes and cassava.
