MP want Petroleum bill passed urgently

Parliament has been urged to quickly expedite the Petroleum Bill 2011 to avoid more delays.

The call was made by the chairperson of the parliamentary forum on oil Theodore Sekikubo while commenting on the ongoing parliamentary discussions on the oil bills.

Sekikubo says that the continued delays not only discourage members from debating but also affects the quality of debate.

He says that according to the rules of procedure the bill should have been handled immediately when parliament resumed but up to now it hasn’t been brought up.
