Mpimbaza Hashaka survives lynching Ggaba market traders

Kampala resident city commissioner, Mpimbaza Hashaka narrowly survived lynching by traders in Gaba market this afternoon.

Hashaka had convened a meeting to solve the ongoing wrangles with one group opposed to paying of daily dues.

Members of the group loyal to the market chairman, Kanwanyi Mugisha swung into action after Hashaka proposed that the dues be scrapped.

Though this was welcomed by another group led by the LC1 chairman, Gabriel Musisi, some of the traders opposed it turning rowdy.

Police has been called in and calm has been restored.

The meeting is still ongoing
