Members of Parliament flocked their respective banks on Wednesday upon hearing that government had deposited 100 million shillings as part payment for the purchase of their highly anticipated vehicles.
MPs say that they rushed to the banks to check their accounts to ascertain whether they had received the car fund but they left the bank in vain since the money did not exist on their accounts.
Some MPs said that they wanted immediately to rush to car bonds to acquire vehicles to stop footing to parliament and using bodabodas.
MPs who included those for ; Nansana municipality, Wakayima Nsereko ,Kaliro district woman, Margaret Mbeiza , Busiro East, Merdad Ssegoona and Kyadondo East, Apollo Kantinti said that they need the money urgently to carry out the constituency and parliament work without delay.
Segoona and Nsereko in particular said that there should be no cause of alarm over MP’s car loan purchase but they instead concern should be shifted to some MPs who they say will be given cars but instead abandon parliamentary work and the people they represent.
