MPs quiz Mulago management over mortuary fees

Members of Parliament on the parliamentary committee on social services have quizzed the managers of Mulago hospital to explain why the charges for dead bodies at the hospital mortuary are not uniform.

The MPs say that the administration should either scrap the fees for getting dead bodies from the mortuary or else they make it official and receipt the money.

A Member on this committee Simon Opolot says instead of tossing people after losing their dear ones, the hospital management should set a standard fee for everyone to pay and get their dead bodies without delay.

The Mulago management promised to look into the matter.
