MPs throw out Security Minister over Gen. David Tinyefuza house

Members of parliament have today thrown out security minister Muruli Mukasa out of parliament after he failed to explain to the Parliamentary committee on presidential affairs when security intends to leave the two storey building at Plot 2, Mabua Road- Kololo.

The building under contention is an office and a command centre where a UPDF General David Tinyenfuza coordinates his intelligence work.

Appearing before the committee chaired by Barnabas Tinkasimire, Muruli explained that much as Tinyenfuza occupied the house because of the need to coordinate intelligence activities, his man was ready to vacate.

But, the committee insisted that Muruli informs the committee the exact day and date Tinyenfuza will vacate the house since he has persistently defied KCCA Executive Director Jenifer Musisi’s orders to leave.

But, Muruli defended Tinyenfuza who has also on several occassions defied the MPs’ summons to appear and defend himself before the comittee, saying he had come to tell MPs that   tinye is going to vacate the house.

After MPs’ demands to have the minister give a timeframe within which his man was to vacate the house hit a snag, the charged legislators accused Muruli of taking them for granted and demanded his exit.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Jennifer Musisi was also in the committee to witness the verdict,
