President Yoweri Museveni has strongly urged the Uganda Police Force to aggressively fight corruption and crime in all its forms in order to attract investment to the country.
The President was closing the second 3-month Operational Command Course attended by over 200 Senior Police Officers at the Police Training School, Kabalye in Masindi district.

A contingent of over 200 senior police Officers of the 1st Operational Command Course also attended the closing ceremony. The 2 courses were also attended by 46 Senior Police Officers from Southern Sudan.
President Museveni who was lecturing to the Police Officers on the topic “Social and Economic Transformation of Uganda”, told them that it was now their cardinal duty to protect the resources that are being generated through improved tax collections and soon to be added the oil proceeds.
The President told the attentive Senior Police Officers to also prevent crime that could repel potential investors from the country. He explained that by controlling crime, confidence will be created which will go along way in attracting investors not only to Uganda but also to Southern Sudan.
Moving a vote of thanks, Colonel James Monday Anoka from Southern Sudan Police Force pledged on behalf of the course participants that the officers will make a difference on the ground in Uganda as well as in Southern Sudan.
He commended President Museveni for his vision especially for the establishment of Kabalye Police Training School which he said has made a big impact in the region. Col. Monday Anoka further praised the President, the government and the people of Uganda for the support accorded to them during their struggle, the peace process and now also at the time of reconstruction.
He said that the people of Southern Sudan have accorded to the President the title of “Patron of Pan Africanism because of these achievements in the region and African in general”.
The ceremony was attended by the Inspector General of Police Major General Kale Kayihura and the Police Spokesperson Judith Nabakooba.
