President Museveni on Sunday, 22nd November will address the nation about the security situation.
This was revealed by the Spokesperson of Government, Ofwono Opondo during an interview.
“He will be addressing the nation about the riots that have been happening in various parts of the country “he said.
Many people have died in various parts of the country and 80 others have been severely injured according to police records after the arrest of National Unity Platform party president Robert Kyagulanyi
Robert Kyagulanyi who is also in the race for the presidential seat including six others was arrested on Wednesday on allegations of disrespecting the COVID-19 guidelines during his rallies.
Patrick Amuriat of the Forum for Democratic Change was also arrested in Gulu over the same incident and he was later granted a Police bond.
Though Amuriat was granted a police bond Kyagulanyi hasn’t been released yet.
Museveni during his meeting with National Resistance Movement leaders in Kotido he told them that anyone who gets involved in riots will be punished severely.
