Uganda Muslims urged to observe fasting

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Ramadhan Shaban Mubajje has urged all Muslims in Uganda and the world at large to observe fasting in this month of Ramadhan.

The Muslim fasting month starts today Tuesday August 10th, 2010. The Mufti has also urged all Muslims to be kind and helpful even to noon Muslims during the month of Ramadhan.

He was speaking at the headquarters of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council on Gadaffi Road in Kampala today. Mubajje asks all Muslims to use the month of Ramadhan to pray for 2011 elections, peace and political tolerance in Uganda.

He further calls upon Muslims to pray for their brothers in Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq and other Muslim countries who are dying in civil wars.

The head of Sharia law in Uganda, Sheikh Rajab Kakooza told Ultimate Media on Monday at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council that whatever is prayed for during the month of Ramadhan is answered by God.
