Nambooze petitions Mbabazi over Kabakumba appointment as Kampala Minister

The shadow minister for local government Betty Nambooze has written to the Prime Minister Amama  Mbabazi  asking him to come out with an explanation over the contested appointment of Kabakumba Mastiko as the minister in charge of Kampala City Authority.

Nambooze says there are indications that the letter of appointment of Kabakumba Mastiko as the Minister for Kampala was forged.

Nambooze who is also the shadow minister for Kampala Capital City Authority noted that Mbabazi should urgently come out with an explanation about this controversial letter of appointment with two varying signatures of President Yoweri Museveni as the appointing authority.

She noted with concern that forging the president’s signature as witnessed on this letter puts the reputation of the person of the president and that of his office at risk.

Addressing the press at Parliament Nambooze wondered why the president would sign an appointment letter and fail to copy it to Minister who is the subject matter and the Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director.

The Authorities in Kampala Capital City have been complaining about the presence of the line minister until this week yet according the controversial letter Kabakumba was appointed into the position as far as last month.
