The youth mp for northern region Evelyn Anite has called upon government to also consider job creation for university leavers as they consider giving loans to the students.

Speaking to journalists at parliament Anite said that the students loan scheme will not yield any results because students will fear borrowing money after knowing that they won’t get jobs easily.

The Government has finalised plans of giving loans to university students for their tuition as the way of helping those who can manage paying their tuition.

This loan was however not considered in the budget of this financial year but the minister of finance in her budget speech said that money for the student loan scheme will be appropriated in the next financial year.

Anite said that since the loan is to be given to the youth government should first give them the assurance that after school, the students will easily get jobs. She said that her projection is that the youth will still fear to get the loan if the situation of unemployment is still the same.
