NRM for retreat in Kyakwanzi to harmonise positions in parliament

In an effort to have a common understanding and way of transacting business on the floor of parliament, the NRM caucus MPs are being prepared for a retreat at Kyankwanzi.

According to sources, the retreat is part of the strategies NRM intends to use to reduce on the ongoing rebellion among party MPs whom sources informed us are acting independently.

The intended retreat is therefore meant to enhance cohesion among party members many of whom continue to oppose the party positions on the floor of parliament.

The retreat according to sources is being slated for the upcoming parliamentary recess period due in September in order to allow party members and Museveni have more time to interact with his legislators so that they can be taught how the party works and its ideologies.

We were informed that the party bosses are also concerned that NRM MPs are not respecting the party structures and its leaders particularly the caucus chairperson John Nasasira whom they claim that he was imposed on them and therefore continue to fail his efforts to rally MPs’ support for government programs on the floor of parliament.

The rebellion in NRM was recently exhibited when party members reached to the extent of opposing the appointment of John Patrick Amama Mbabazi as prime minister on grounds that the man from Kanungu is morally tainted, in addition to opposing the passing of shs207bn for energy among others.
