Opposition launch Free Uganda now campaign

The opposition in Uganda has launched the Free Uganda now campaign, which they say us replacing a former campaign for free and fair election (CAFE) which was launched early this year.

Speaking at a joint rebranding press conference in Kampala today UPC president, Olara Otunu said that, this is a united struggle geared at achieving democratic change in the country to end state terror against nationals, corruption, impunity and restoring the rule of law among others.

DP president general, Norbert Mao confirms that consultations have been made among all opposition parties before coming up with this strategy. He however said the opposition is not ruling rule out possibilities of dialogue with president M7 if the dialogue geared towards national interests.

Meanwhile, Social Democratic Party boss, Mike Mabike says Tuesday next week will mark the official launch of the rebranded campaign with processing around the city center before a mega rally at Nsambya railway grounds.

The members are advising police not to interfere with their processions but only come to provide security as people proceed for their rally.
